So it’s all about the title of the book (Stupid)

So early on into the writing of the book I was speaking with a colleague and good friend whose acumen I respect tremendously. Robert Difazio (a contributor to the book) asked ‘so Kent, what’s the title of the book’ and I replied off the cuff, ‘when I was working in New York with Phil Ramone, it was all about the music.’ My friend Robert is a maven in digital analytics. Which made me think it might be a fine idea to delineate the marketing components that may be beneficial in elevating one’s music while influencing the metrics and the analytics.

I elaborate on arriving at the title of the book in the Preface (here). And Robert’s synopsis of analytics for artists’ can be found in Chapter 17.
